The Council of Catholic Women (CCW) upholds the mission of the National CCW (NCCW), to support, empower and educate women in spirituality, leadership, & service. All women of Christ Our Redeemer (COR) Parish are invited to join CCW. We would love to have you join us for meetings and fellowship. The ladies of COR CCW help out with many parish events, i.e., the parish picnic, funeral receptions, and Lenten Soup Nights followed by Stations of the Cross. We volunteer time, energy and resources to donate to local charities, and each year, we support two deserving COR women through college scholarships. We meet the first Friday of each month for morning Mass followed by a breakfast meeting with a program. In addition, we host a few evening or weekend meetings, including a hosting a Wine and Cheese Social and sponsoring a Baby Shower for Life. Members can choose to participate in a variety of activities, according to their interests and availability.
Baby Shower for Life: Each October, members bring gifts for expectant mothers and their unborn babies, anything from diapers, baby furniture, clothing, etc., which we donate to the Fort Walton Beach Center for Women, a home for unwed mothers.
Funeral Receptions: Following Mass and/or burial service, our ladies prepare and host a reception in the Parish Hall; all women are welcome to help.
Lenten & Advent Days of Reflection: Our work includes ministering to each other and sharing in several spiritual gatherings throughout the year. We join with Catholic women throughout our Deanery to participate in a Day of Reflection, one during Lent and another at Advent time. The day typically includes inspiring spiritual talks by special guest speakers, Reconciliation, Mass, and lunch.
Deanery Meetings & Events: Our deanery hosts meetings each fall and spring, and members are invited to attend to meet ladies from nearby parishes, learn about deanery-wide activities, and enjoy programming at these larger meetings.
Leadership Development Opportunities: Local, diocesan, state and national meetings provide members opportunities to gain knowledge about CCW as well as important Catholic issues. This can develop their leadership skills to have a voice and take on not only leadership roles within CCW, but within the parish and Catholic community as well.
NCCW "Water for Life" Project: Our national organization collects funds to provide water to third-world countries. We participate by collecting loose change at each meeting

Why Priscilla?
Priscilla, is the nickname for Prisca, as mentioned by Paul in a letter to the Romans: “Greet Prisca and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I am grateful but also all the churches of the Gentiles; greet also the church at their house.”
You see, in the early church Jesus’s followers met in people’s homes like Priscilla’s. This, along with many other stories we have heard about this strong supporter of the Church, is the name adopted for this group affiliated with the Council of Catholic Women. The Priscilla Circle seeks to foster and nurture the women in our church through fellowship, spiritual growth, and service to others. We offer an additional meeting time for those who cannot meet Friday mornings with CCW.
Like Priscilla, we meet in the home. The host varies amongst the group and the meetings are in the evenings the third week of the month. Our gatherings are focused on allowing the women to have spiritual time on a given subject guided by a guest speaker. We know that we have many spouses that are deployed or not available on the meeting night every time, so children are welcome. Time for reflection and dialog at the meeting is primary, thus business is addressed via the closed group on Facebook and Instagram. Other activities that we have hosted in the past and are planning for the whole parish family for Fall 2019/Spring 2020 include the Harvest Dance, ice cream socials, meals for new moms, Holy Smokes BBQ competition fundraiser, and a reflection group for women.
Priscilla Circle membership is free. For more information and latest happenings, go to COR Priscilla Circle Community on Facebook and Instagram or contact one of our co-leaders:
